A representative from Nativa Tours will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Discovery Rainforest Interpretive Center in Soberania National Park, an environmental educational center. It is an environmental education and ecotourism project managed by the “Eugene Eisenmann Avifauna Foundation”, which aims to conserve birds through environmental sustainability projects. Enjoy nature, take a walk on the trails, discover the great variety of birds from the 32-meter high observation tower, and relax watching the hummingbirds in the Visitor Center.
You will enjoy a box lunch before continuing to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort, where the “Gatun Expedition” boat tour begins. You will navigate the Chagres River, passing the historic Gamboa Bridge and arriving at Gatun Lake, which is the second largest man-made lake in the world at 423 square kilometers. This lake was formed for the construction of the Panama Canal more than a hundred years ago. On our tour of Gatun Lake, we will see the huge ships in transit through the Canal and visit some small islands along our way in search of monkeys, sloths, iguanas, crocodiles, eagles, toucans and many other tropical animals and birds.
